Our Story

A Vehicle for
Storytelling

Ezokhetho is derived from the isiZulu language by founder Mpumelelo Dhlamini and his mother. Founded after graduating from The Villioti Fashion Institute, the brand was created as a vehicle for storytelling through clothing.

Following recognition including the Dean's Merit Award, the Edcon Design Innovation Challenge, SA Fashion Week's 21 Steps Retail Programme and showcasing in Milan Fashion Week, Ezokhetho has grown into a contemporary African luxury brand.

Today every collection reflects African identity while celebrating those who came before us.

β€œMeticulously chosen by those
who came before us.”

Sustainability

Designed
Responsibly

Ezokhetho believes luxury should also be responsible. We make deliberate choices at every step β€” from the suppliers we select to the production methods we employ β€” because what we create must be worthy of the stories it carries.

Local Sourcing

Every fabric and material is sourced from local suppliers across Southern Africa, keeping craftsmanship and economy within the community.

Surplus Fabrics

We intentionally work with surplus and dead-stock fabrics, reducing waste while creating limited-run pieces with genuine scarcity.

Fair Production

Every garment is produced in partnership with small, vetted local workshops that uphold fair wages and ethical working conditions.

Transparency

We believe luxury should be accountable. We openly share our supply chain, production partners, and environmental commitments.

Our Philosophy

β€œFashion is our medium
for storytelling.”
